my toshiba bdx1200 started taking a dislike to blurays, the usual problem, freezing, locking up, laser losing focus, call it what you will, dvd playback was unaffected. took it back to richer sounds today and they swapped it for the bdx4350 with no extra charge and a new 5yr warranty which is fair enough. if you press set up and enter in the old magic code of 8520 the factory page comes up on the screen but as we know you can't change the region codes. question is how much of the old firmware upgrade for the bdx1200 would erm have to be modified so that it could be used on the new machine and is anybody clever enough to do it out there lol.

Pioneer 320 problem
Got a pioneer 320 blu ray player.. Had it about 18 months .. Has latest firmware ect ..
But will not play blu rays anymore.. Just says CANNOT PLAY , on the screen.
The player still plays DVDs fine no problem..also tried factory reset.. But still no luck .
Any help would be great ....

Multizone OPPO 103-EU playing imports
I recently purchased a multizone,multiregion Oppo player and while it works fine for region 1 DVDs I cannot get multizone to work on my 'LOOPER" zone A BLURAY with the DIMMER-DIMMER-DIMMER-MUTE then 1,2,3 method to switch zones.One thing someone in our household before I realised put disc in my PlayStation 3 obviously it will not play.Because the PlayStation is connected to internet the disc being put in there first has not locked the disc somehow has it because oppo is connected to internet as well?.

after entering 0490 do i then enter 1.00191 and all the other numbers one after the other, also it says - 4. enter 5 digit code from above
does it mean i enter all the codes all over again.
also - press button (1,2,3 etc..) where to program it

prepare:
1. select dvd device on remote
2. hold magic button until the DVD button lights up and stays lit up.
3. enter device code 0490 (DVD button blinks twice)

bd player with the most online content?
We have the house surrounded in scaffolding at the moment which causes a signal loss on the sky dish and we do not have an aerial. I am thinking of a blu ray player instead to use the online functions, bbci player etc, my question is: which one has the most online content at the moment for a reasonable price?
I've seen the samsung bde6100 at £89.95 but not sure if there may be a better option out there???

Blu ray multi region
I have a Panasonic BDT310 and a UK ps3 60gb. Both are region B only. I want to import region A discs. I was looking for a cheap region A or multi region machine. I am now thinking could I make one of these multi region or have one of them set to region A. If its possible how do you go about it. not really worried about DVD as I have a US XA2

LG HT356 Home cinema,region free code
Can anyone help making my lg ht356sd home cinema system region free? There are a couple of solutions out there,one being press pause,then zero 4 times,does not work.There is one,pressing 1472 from memory that takes you to a prom screen,but the details on there are different from the one in the fix (not for this lg model) but at least that takes me somewhere.I had sent lg an email,they told me to unlock it,but said they are not allowed to tell me how to.Really would like an answer to this one that works.

Pioneer BDP-150 Multi Region DVD Playback using Harmony One
OK, I've just made my BDP-150 (f/w 1.05) multi-regional for DVD using my Logitech Harmony One, here is what I did;
Used the instructions for all post-2011 BDPs from PioneerFAQ, these are basically;
Switch on the player & Remove any disc
Close the tray
Press HOME MENU on the Pioneer Remote
Select INITIAL SETTINGS
Press the hack button on the remote <-- The IR signal that is for DVD/DVR players!
Select OPTIONS using the Pioneer Remote
Select Load Default
Once defaults are loaded complete the Settings Wizard
Switch Player Off then On again
Press HOME MENU on the Pioneer remote
Select INITIAL SETTINGS
Type 8520 on the Pioneer remote
I also followed this post on here - http://www.avforums.com/forums/15347402-post1.html to get the hack IR code onto my Harmony. To save you faffing around with ccf to hex conversions, here's one I prepared earlier, hex code you need is;

I just bought a Logik L22FED12 with dvd player included. I like to change the zone. I did find many codes but none of them worked. The problem my dvd player doesn't have a tray, my dvd slide inside the dvd player. I try different codes from other cies (in case it work but nothing).

Pioneer BDP-LX55 Multi-Region Instructions
Hi All,
Find below Instructions I sourced from the web and put together to modify my Pioneer BDP-LX55 for Multi-Region DVD.
You need a Logitech Harmony Remote for this.

STEP ONE
Copy the IR HEX Code from the PDF link into Notepad. Remove the line-breaks so the code only appears as a single line of codes with space seperators. Select All and Copy the Code from Notepad.
STEP TWO
Follow the Instructions in the 2nd Link to create a New 'HACK' button on your Pioneer BDP-LX55 Remote, Pasting in the HEX Code at the correct point. The instructions worked fine on Win8 64-Bit - Desktop IE10.
STEP THREE
Switch on the BDP-LX55 & Remove any disc
Close the tray
Press Home Menu on the programmed BDP-LX55 Remote
Select Initial Setup
Press the 'HACK' button on the programmed BDP-LX55 Remote
Select Options using the programmed BDP-LX55 Remote
Select Load Default
Once defaults are loaded complete the Settings Wizard
Switch BDP-LX55 Off then On again
Press Home Menu on the programmed BDP-LX55 Remote
Select Initial Setup
Type 8520 on the programmed BDP-LX55 Remote
Region setting should now be 0
Note: At this point, I couldn't navigate off this Display, when checking region is 0, so just Powered Off and back on, and took a Region 1 disc with no issues.
As implied by the links, this process should also work on other Pioneer Blu-Ray Players from 2011 onwards, but I only have tested this personally with the BDP-LX55.

Sony DVP-SR760H Multi-region hack
Hello,
Can anyone advise how I can put my Sony DVP-SR760H in to service mode? I want to make it region free but everything I try isn’t working. I’ve tried pressing Menu, Clear and Power but the player just starts as usual. (Do you hold Menu, Clear and Power or do you press them in sequence?)
I’ve also noticed one post advising that I can unlock the player following these steps: Go to 'Setup'
Scroll to 'Lock' (don't scroll sideways from here)
press '0' seven times
press 'Enter'
However, when I go to set up there is no ‘Lock’ option. Can someone please help because I have many region 1 and 3 DVD’s in my collection?

Multiregion bluray player or bluray burner?
My Toshiba BDX3200 started giving me problems just the other week. I've sent it back and are looking for a new player.
Are there any serious contenders for the BDX3200? Price wise? Multiregion bluray playback and the player being quiet are my main priorities. The Toshiba fulfilled both, but this is the second machine I had to send back so I'm gonna try something else.
The reviews for Orei BDP-M2 looks good, and the price is great, but it bothers me a bit that there seems to be no firmware updates at all for this player. Sooner or later most players will need some kind of upgrade.
I'm also looking at some different ICOS-modded ones, but the price is fairly high.
One solution that seems really good is a bluray writer with AnyDVD HD. The program gets updated very often and are quite reliable IMO. It seems the program would give me region free-ness as far as I can tell?
I can also get my hands on a very good bluray writer cheap now. Both the program and the writer for 150$. I already have a very powerful HTPC connected to my TV.
Which would be the best way to go?
