Hi

Thinking of going region free for blu currently got a Sony 790 and really like it, so might just buy an additional machine.

Is this any good;

This is my first post here. I have been looking for a cheap yes very cheap solution for a Multi Region player. I live in UAE and my PS3 is Region B so I can play all region B titles but I want to own something for a Region A playback. I searched and searched and came here :) I found that Toshiba is perhaps the most cheap option available but I cant seem to find any list of Toshiba BD players which can be hacked by the remote after the software modification only.

Can anyone please share a list of all Toshiba BD players which can be hacked by firmware update in order to make then multi region for Blu-Ray playback.

PS: If you think there is some other solution as well or there are other bd players which can be hacked by remote only please do share that too.

Hiya

I have found a couple of different hacks for my relatively new dvd player but I cannot seem to get any to work.

I have tried the following

Turn on player
open tray
press stop
enter 2379

other codes found are 734466 and 3597. In each the process is the same and on entering the number (after pressing stop) a menu is suppose to appear. I just continue to get the same blue screen.

What am I doing wrong?

Are they people that I can take it to to get 'fixed' or do I have to go to Argos buy a load of cheap dvd players and once I can find one to hack return the others?

I have a mini-series form Australia that I am desperate to watch.

Advice/help greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone,


Looking for a new blu-ray player.

I currently have a Panasonic DMP-BD55 which was amazing for 5 years...

I have a plasma Pioneer Kuro PDP-LX5090. The last one before they stopped producing plasmas..Amazing telly btw, have not found anything better since...

And i am about to buy a surround system, amp + speakers.

I am hesitating between the Sony and the Oppo. Main thing for me is the quality of the image and sound. Sony is 200 GBP and Oppo is 500 GBP so i am wondering if the difference is justified just for image/sound quality or are you buying a lot of gadegtry and features with the Oppo that i might not need ?

Im looking for a 3D Blu-ray player with speaker inputs as I currently have a set of speakers to use, i dont really want to go down the road of a home cinema system with speakers everywhere, ive got about £300 to spend.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I'm from Germany and my old Phillips DVD player seems to have broken down. I used this one to watch my US-DVDs, but now I get an error message when I try to load a disc.
I still have a Funai T3A-A8182DB (DVD, video, hard disc combo), but it's only region code 2. Does anyone know how I can hack it so that it also plays my US-DVDs?

I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to upgrade my BDX3300 to Multi Region, I was under the pretence that it already came region free but I appear to be be wrong, I've browsed through the various forums and can't seem to see a thread already started for this request....

Thinking of buying one of these as a cheap dvd player. I dont quite understand the technology here, can someone advise me please. Although its not classed as 3d, will it play downloaded 3d mkv's mp4's via the usb? How does a 3d dvd player differ?

Hi. I started a forum recently but it got no responses so I'm trying again.
My denon blu ray player (DBP 1611 UD) is really noisy when I play blu ray audio discs (e.g. Rolling Stones grrr,) and when I play 3D discs (e.g. The Hobbit).
Does anyone know what I can do to make it stop?

I have just purchased a EX99 for digitising archival VHS tapes - both professionally recorded and amateur.

I have just read through the manual and I am alarmed by two things to do with the hard-drive.

1/ It is clearly stated that the hard-drive is fragile and not suited to storing archival recordings. I thought that hard-drives were the only reliable media for the storage of archival digital files. If not then what is? I understand that DVDs / CDs are not suitable due to decomposition aka bit-rot.

2/ There does not seem to be a way of backing-up the contents of the hard-drive - as a computer professional the need for this has been drummed into me for my entire career. I regularly back-up my computers' hard drives, why can't I do this for the EX99?

As an additional question I have tried dubbing some programmes onto a RAM disk. Then I have tried to read this disk on a computer. It plays OK but all of the chapters / programmes are all joined into one long VRO file. How can I split this up into the original separate programmes? I don't want to get into video conversions because these are archival recordings and I need to keep the quality as high as possible.

P.S. In case you're wondering I am using newly purchased (and discounted) domestic equipment for this project because I was refused funding to get the work done more professionally. Now I have to save the VHS recordings before they deteriorate further.

Got error message SVR SCN when playing CD's on my BDP 150
Will play some of the CD but not all then stop

Hi guys, was wondering if you could help!:)

I've been trawling the forums looking for an answer to this and come unstuck so far, so figured I'd have to bite the bullet and ask!

My friend has a Toshiba TV/DVD combo, the 32D1333 model I believe. Now I know all about finding and using multi-region hacks for standalone DVD players, but the issue I'm finding here is that I don't know the model of the DVD player used in this particular TV/DVD combo - and without it I'm lost for where to find an unlock code.

So I guess, my question is does anyone have any ideas on how to find the model number of the DVD player so I've got something to work off? Or do I have to use trial and error with a list of the Toshiba hacks and see if any work for me?
